One of these jewels that will surely leave you spellbound is the Book of Felicity (Metali'ü'l-saadet) from the Golden Age of Ottoman art. The book was commissioned by the sultan Murad III himself, and reflects his interest in astrology, divination, marvels, myths, intriguing stories and curiosities in faraway lands. Translated and adapted from the original work in Arabic Kitab al-Bulhan (Book of Wonders), it is illustrated with absolutely beautiful full-page paintings, lavishly embellished with gold and silver.
