f. 30r · The Second Vial poured on the Sea

St John peeps through a small window in the frame at the vision of the pouring of the vial of the second angel on the sea, which is turned to blood causing the death of all within it. Below grey clouds a boat is sinking in the sea where the heads and hands of the men who are drowning are to be seen in its red waters, contrasting with the dull-green diaper ground.

And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea, and there came blood as it were of a dead man, and every living soul died in the sea.” (Apoc. 16: 3)
